![]() To my shock, it was giving me access denied messages (and im always logged in as local administrator). Since i work as a VB6 programmer, i wrote a quick program to allowed me to change the attributes. Norton or Symantac didnt find anything on either system that was wrong. Next, i updated both my pc and the laptop with latest definitions of Norton 360. This only allowed us to see the folder, it kept the greyed out hidden attribute. I disconnected the network drive and plugged it into the laptop, was able to then take ownership of a folder (could only do 1 folder at a time). I checked my computer to see if i could access the drive and i could, but noticed all the folders had their attributes changed to Hidden and the option to change it was greyed out. Originally discovered symptoms 2 weeks ago when my wifes laptop (Toshiba Satellite L870 Series, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit purchased 1 year ago) could not access our Network Drive (Seagate Backup Plus Desktop Drive ), which is connected by USB on my Desktop PC (Dell Inspiron 560, Windows XP Pro Performance Edition, SP 3, 32 bit).
